French presidential elections: 

François Fillon candidate in 2017 "whatever happens"

Reporting for RTL from Tokyo, I asked today to former French Prime Minister François Fillon if he was "in reconquest". Fillon is one of the rare VIP in the world to have received the Order of the Rising Sun Grand Cordon, as André Malraux did. It was at the Imperial palace of Tokyo with the Emperor Akihito. Today Fillon also surprised the French political world, "a political bomb" as many papers such as Le Figaro writes. 

At the end of our press meeting with a few French colleagues, at the hotel Okura (see photo) I asked him today for RTL France: "Are you on the reconquest? I am asking about the French presidential elections of 2017. Francois Fillon answered: "I'll be candidate in 2017 whatever happens!"

Français: A la fin de notre interview, en le raccompagnant dans les salons de l'hotel Okura de Tokyo, j'ai demandé à Francois Fillon s'il était "sur la reconquête?" Il m'a répondu "Je serai candidat en 2017 quoi qu'il arrive." Scoop! J'étais avec 2 collègues, BFMTV et l'AFP. La présidentielle 2017 a t elle été lancée depuis Tokyo? 

Via tweeter, François Fillon a déclaré qu'il n'y avait "rien de nouveau dans ses propos de Tokyo", puisqu'il s'agissait, pour lui, de postuler à la primaire. Petites phrases...

Je ne suis pas du tout certain, après avoir écouté et échangé avec François Fillon, que son adversaire est Nicolas Sarkozy, quoi qu'en disent certains commentateurs parisiens. Le feu est attisé, certes. A suivre...
